Jacquard Textile Art Re-Imagined
This work is based on developing layers of transparent color, enhanced by metallic and light reflective yarns.
The images suggesting veils, folds, scrolls, smoke and skies are algorithmically generated rather than captured from the real world; no drawings or photos are used.
None of the steps in the creation process depend on Photoshop or assignment of “known weaves”.
The phenomenon of “unstructured weaves” is only possible via computers and the jacquard loom. This approach presents a new frontier in woven textiles.
